My Girl is a Korean drama starring Lee Dong Wook (Seol Gong Chan), Lee Da Hae (Joo Yoo Rin), Lee Jun Ki (Seo Jung Woo), and Park Shi Yeon (Kim Seo Hyun). This drama aired from December 2005 to February 2006 with 16 episodes. It became one of the top ten dramas of 2006 and helped launch the career of Lee Jun Ki.

Synopsis: When Gong Chan (Lee Dong Wook) meets the lively and beautiful Yoo Rin (Lee Da Hae), he finds out that she has connections to his missing cousin, who his grandfather has been searching for a long time. He asks Yoo Rin to lie about being his long missing cousin until he can find his real cousin. She says yes, but soon their feelings for each other get in the way of their plans. Gong Chan’s friend Jung Woo (Lee Jun Ki) falls for Yoo Rin while Gong Chan’s ex girlfriend, Seo Hyun (Park Shi Yeon), a pro tennis player, tries to win him back. Will the two ever tell each other how they feel? Will Gong Chan ever find his real cousin?

Review: I like this drama. I thought it was cute. I really like anything with Lee Da Hae in it. She is a great actress and I loved her in this drama. Especially in the first few episodes when she does her dramatic acting, it’s just hilarious.  Lee Dong Wook was good too.  Both of them together had great chemistry, so it really was a good show.  And of course there is Lee Jun Ki…the supposed “pretty boy”.  I do have to admit that he is a little bit more pretty than most actors I have seen.  This really launched his career and now he is EVERYWHERE!!!!

This drama was a stray from the normal Korean drama where everyone has cancer and dies, the real tearjerkers.  This was funny, cute, and definitely had some interesting characters.  The trouble the Yoo Rin gets herself into…it’s just great.  And the love connection between her and Gong Chan was genuine, and that’s what made for a great story.  And although I loved Jung Woo, I knew that there was no real connection between Yoo Rin and him.

And I loved the ending when they found the real granddaughter/cousin that Joo Rin was posing for with her husband.  And it was the couple from My Delightful Girl, Choon Hyang!!!!  I like Jae Hee and Han Chae Young together too!!!  But that is for another post.  All around good drama and pretty much everyone’s favorite, including mine.
